10 Keys to Beautiful Skin at Every Age

When you look at skin as the body’s largest organ, you see past your face and understand that the layers are there to help protect us from foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses.

If you have compromised skin or hormonal imbalance, the barrier becomes jeopardized. You don’t want to continue fighting the battle externally when there are things happening inside that are fighting against you!

To truly find lasting change with your skin is to support it well and help it to do its job effectively. And when it does its job, you will begin to see naturally glowing, beautiful skin.

How to Have Beautiful Skin That Glows

  1. Eat Whole Foods and Cut Back on Sugar. This may be one of the seemingly hardest things to change but is so important. If your diet is consistently made up of processed foods, you’re taking in all the chemicals and preservatives that can harm your gut health, create a place for imbalance, and hurt your overall health. Opting for a colorful array of fruits and vegetables with whole grains and limited sugar will help your body realign and be able to repair its cells more effectively.

  2. Vitamins for Healthy Skin. Some of the most important vitamins you can take for skin health are Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K all play a key role in how your skin looks and feels. Vitamin A helps your skin stay smooth and hydrated. If you need to get rid of dry, itch skin, start there! Vitamin C, D, and E decrease cell damage, supports firm skin, and protect from UV rays.

  3. Detox occasionally. We are surrounded by toxins and chemicals in our environment. Everything from the water you drink to the soaps you use in your laundry probably contains harmful chemicals. Try to decrease the amount of chemical exposure but also add in drinks and foods that will help support your kidneys and liver and detox your body well. You can also do Epsom salt or bentonite clay baths that can help your skin get rid of unwanted elements!

  4. Watch How You Wash. Too much hot water will dry out your skin and hair. Be sure to rinse with lukewarm water and seal in moisture with a clean moisturizer!

  5. Don’t get too much UV. Many sunscreens are full of chemicals — we love wearing hats and sunglasses to keep too much UV off of our skin. But if that’s not possible or you’re concerned about UV, find a non-toxic alternative to help protect your skin!

  6. Hydrate from the inside out. If you have dry skin, fine lines, and wrinkles, or want to increase circulation, getting enough water will help you see immediate results. Be sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day — but aiming for half your body weight is a great goal.

  7. Sleep Well. Experts want you to get 9 hours a night for teens and 7-8 hours a night for adults. So it’s okay to get your beauty sleep!

  8. Reduce Stress. We know that stress can harm our heart health and physical ability to lose weight or feel good all day, but did you know that stress impacts your skin? Stress or cortisol will put your hormones out of line which can spur on clogged pores, add to combination skin issues, or make you have oily skin. Be sure to find daily practices (yoga, meditation, exercise routines) that can help you minimize stress in your life!

  9. Get things checked. If you notice any odd changes to your skin, like a rash that changes size or color or a new mole, be sure to run it by a certified dermatologist.

  10. Use a toxin-free skin cleanser, moisturizer, and serum. Finally, be sure you have a great skin care line that provides anti aging support! No matter your age, you can benefit from using plant-based, natural ingredients to help your skin look young, get rid of dead skin cells, and work with your skin type!

Having glowing skin and enhancing your natural beauty doesn’t have to be incredibly difficult — you just need to have the right goals in line and the ambition to change your life to take you there! If you need help finding the right skincare, please reach out to our team at any time!
